Following the French empire's humiliating defeat at Điện Biên Phủ another exploited nation would take up arms to kick their colonizers to the curb. After decades of genocidal colonial conditions imposed on them through warfare, and a generation lost to the second great inter-imperialist cataclysm, Algeria declared national sovereignty to the tune of torture, rape, and murder at the hands of the French Colonizers. The FLN along with their resilience, tactics, and bold nationalist struggle inspired many revolutionaries and revolutions to come. Through protracted guerrilla struggle Algerian freedom fighters were able to overcome some of the most heinous war crimes of the 20th century and achieve their independence. The Algerian war of independence, and the brave Algerian people's sacrifices would out live the fourth republic of France itself. Long live the FLN, Long live Algeria!
